BBB-accredited installation partner · A+ BBB rating
Our installation partner holds BBB accreditation and an A+ BBB rating. Its remodeling work has earned Kansas City magazine recognition: Best Bath Remodeling in 2024 and Best Home Remodeling Company in 2025.
Credentials and awards apply to the installation partner, not to KC Bathroom Additions. Verified September 18, 2026. How this resource works. What do you mean by a full bathroom addition?
Describe the actual fixtures: toilet, basin and a tub, shower or both. Property-listing labels can differ, so a contractor brief should not rely on “full bath” alone. Creating the room where no bathroom existed is also different from replacing fixtures in an existing bathroom.
This project can support guests, children, a shared household or an additional bathing option on a convenient floor. Begin with how the room will be used before adding optional features that take space or complicate the assembly.
Which decisions need to be coordinated?
| Decision | Why it affects the others |
|---|---|
| Tub versus shower | Changes footprint, use patterns and the selected water-control assembly |
| Room location | Determines what space is lost and where utilities must run |
| Drain strategy | Can change floor height, slab work and fixture compatibility |
| Door/enclosure arrangement | Affects entry, movement and water containment |
| Hot-water and electrical scope | Existing systems need assessment for the planned fixtures and use |
| Easier-use goals | Should shape layout and floor strategy before finishes are ordered |
Use the layout guide for a three-pass review. If the room is downstairs, coordinate it with the basement drain comparison.
What belongs behind a tiled shower?
The proposal should identify a complete waterproofing and drainage assembly, along with the relevant installation and inspection checks. Listing tile, grout and an attractive drain does not explain how corners, penetrations and transitions will manage water.
The exhaust plan is a separate part of the work. Ask where humid air exits outdoors and how the fan and route will be verified. The waterproofing and ventilation guide separates those responsibilities so they remain visible in the scope.
What if you want a curbless shower?
Introduce that goal early. Floor levels, slope, structure and drain height must agree. A design that removes a curb but creates a difficult step at the bathroom entrance may not meet the intended use. Consider the entire route and the room around the shower.
The easier-use planning checklist helps describe personal needs without making unsupported legal-compliance claims. Bring actual device or assistance requirements to the design discussion where relevant.
How should you prepare a quote request?
Name the municipality, location and desired fixtures; distinguish must-haves from optional upgrades. Note known drain connections, adjacent finished rooms and any observations about moisture. Ask for design assumptions, trade work, permits, allowances, restoration and closeout to be addressed.
Compare an interior conversion with a bump-out if the existing house cannot surrender enough usable space. Those alternatives should have separate scopes before their prices are compared.
Ready to discuss this addition?
Send a project inquiry with your location, desired fixtures and the questions you want to resolve. KC Bathroom Additions provides the planning and inquiry resource; installation is performed by our installation partner. Availability, feasibility, pricing and a construction agreement must be confirmed separately.
